DanChurchAid (DCA) is looking for an energetic and proactive Programme Coordinator

The position oversees a responsive and innovative multi-sectoral relief programme through local partners and structures in a complex crisis setting with access constraints and substantial insecurity.

It provides opportunities to develop new ways of providing immediate relief assistance, support community resilience, and build local capacity.
This exciting programme requires an exceptional individual who can strengthen locally-led responses, while overseeing the implementation of activities in the sectors of food security, protection, shelter, education, heath, livestock and capacity building.

The Programme Coordinator will together with a team of 3 staff members (Humanitarian Officer, Finance Officer and Logistics Officer) be responsible to:

  • Manage programme development, grants, local partnerships and donor relations;
  • Facilitate capacity building of the local actors to implement timely and effective humanitarian and resilience building activities;
  • Oversee logistical, financial and monitoring operations in support of local partners and structures to implement multi-sectoral interventions;
  • Provide humanitarian, contextual and security information as appropriate to local partners and donors.
    Core functions of the Programme Coordinator
    are to manage the implementation of a multi-sectoral relief programme through multiple local partners. The primary responsibilities are:

  • Local partnership management (3 local partners);

  • Team management (3 staff);

  • Proposal and grant design;

  • Oversight of activity implementation;

  • Effective and quality information sharing;

  • Security information management;

  • Overseeing financial and logistical operations;

  • Overseeing good quality monitoring and evaluation.
    Duty station and movement
    This position is based in Juba with regular travel to the field.

Your profile
You have a relevant university degree and are an outgoing, results-oriented and proactive person with at least 6 years relevant work experience, incl. programme management and work in complex humanitarian situations in Africa.
Knowledge of South Sudan and Sudan is an added advantage.

You are interested in managing effective and locally led approaches, under challenging humanitarian conditions. You are confident in the role as manager, innovative, good motivator and you work with a hands-on approach. You are a proven facilitator with excellent communication, coordination, and problem solving skills. You are flexible and able to adapt to a multi-cultural environment. You have extensive knowledge of working with grant management and donor relations.

You are able and willing to work with a high degree of confidentiality. You have experience with security and access management. You have a good understanding of working with many stakeholders and are able to both assist and learn from local partners, while also having a proven capacity for effective team and self-management. You are fluent in written and spoken English.

DCA offers
