South Sudan: EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in South Sudan is planning to implement a piped water supply system in Rubkona town, Unity state. The pipe water supply will provide 2500 m3 water per day to cater to the needs of the Rubkona town and Bentiu POC site (Protection of Civilian). The intake is surface water from the river near Rubkona town and there is a need for water treatment. UNICEF is looking for potential contractors to express their interest for construction, of the new water treatment and distribution systems. The following are the main activities where UNICEF South Sudan is looking for contractors:

  • Construction of suitable water intake structure

  • Construction of water treatment plants along with power system and control panels

  • Construction of water supply pipeline systems with appropriate fittings

  • Construction and rehabilitation of elevated and ground water storage tanks and water reservoirs.

  • Construction of suitable water distribution points and kiosks

  • Installation and maintenance of valve chambers, water pumps and other electromechanical equipment for water supply systems

  • Installation and maintenance of solar powered water supply systems

Contractors registered and working in South Sudan and neighboring countries including but not limited to Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Sudan are eligible to express their interest and participate in the construction bids which will be shared with the contractors’ interest and minimum qualifications.

Contractors, interested in providing all or part of above services to UNICEF, should obtain “The Contractors Profile Form”, free of charge, from:

The Form can be collected in person or by request through the above address detail including email on any working day between 9:00 to 15:00 hours. The Form should be completed and returned to UNICEF before June 15, 2016 along with the substantiating documents such as copy of company profile, including legal registration, VAT number, and bank details, references list of similar projects, copy of your catalogue, including any additional/substantiating document you deem appropriate.

Contractors are requested to submit the UNICEF Supplier Profile Form with supporting document in a sealed envelope to the above address before 15 June 2016, 14 hours.

Please note the following:

  • UNICEF does not deal with contractors who are non-compliant with the National Labour Laws and Regulations and with those who do not abide to ethical standards related to child Labour and landmines.

  • UNICEF payment terms are after delivery.

  • UNICEF prefers to collaborate with Contractors who have previous working experience with either UN or International Organizations;

Upon receipt and review of the documents, UNICEF shall make the necessary physical verification of the premises of the Contractors who have submitted complete documentation and who meet the UNICEF criteria before considering them as potential Contractors for the Water supply system construction.
