Main objective:
To coordinate and supervise all the activities of a education intervention in Eastern Equatoria State
The project aims to improve access to safe and quality education opportunities for girls and boys affected by the humanitarian crisis; specifically establish Safe and healthy learning environments for emergency affected children and youth and enhance the resilience of children, youth and education actors through the provision of relevant life skills education.
The project will be implemented in collaboration with the project partner and the AVSI South Sudan HQ based in Juba.
Reporting to: South Sudan Country Representative
Specific duties:
· To plan and coordinate all the project activities according to the donor rules and AVSI procedures
· To select, in collaboration with H.R. officer, and manage of the local staff engaged in the project
· To monitor and evaluate the project’s activities including production of the required technical and financial reports
· To manage the procurement and the administration for the financial report related the project
· To work in close relation and dialogue with the local partners, to improve their skill, management and performances
· To relate with the local authorities and all the actors involved in the project
· To relate, together with the Nutrition Focal Point and the CR, with the donor
· To implement project activities in collaboration with the Area Team Leader in the project area and with the other Project Managers, in order to increase the impact of the project starting from the synergies with similar project in Education
· To actively participate to Education cluster in the Country
· Any other duty assigned by the Supervisor
Essential Requirement:
Degree, preferably in Social Studies, Social Sciences; Master in Humanitarian Studies or International Cooperation.
At least one year working experience in developing countries as JPO, PO, PM or similar
Proved experience as project manager implementing development projects, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Previous experience in South Sudan is an added value
Experience in developing education (specifically EiE) projects in rural areas
Computer skills / Microsoft Office
Good knowledge of English language
