OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

CTG Global is a managed service company specializing in Recruitment, Management Consultancy, Human Resources support services and Monitoring & Evaluation in post disaster and post conflict countries around the world.

CTG Global provides services to humanitarian organizations, government, non-governmental organizations and corporate's that enables public and private sectors to focus on their core business and the achievement of their objectives in hostile and threatening environments as we provide a safe and secure environment for them to do so and alleviate them of their risks, crisis and personnel management problems.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

Role objective:

§ The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining mobile and stationary equipment in a safe and effective manner.

Expected output:

Specific responsibilities include:

§ Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on mobile and stationary equipment including front end loaders, dozer's, trucks, compactors and mobile generators.

§ Inspect mobile and stationary equipment and supplies.

§ Supervise others involved in maintenance tasks.

§ Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations.

Project reporting:

§ This role reports to the Team Leader/Project Manager.

Team management:

§ The Chief Mechanic will be responsible manage a team of 2 local national assistant mechanics.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Education:

§ Diploma in Mechanics and/or Certificate in Auto and heavy equipment mechanics or any equivalent combination of education and experience..

Work experience:

§ Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable relevant Engineering – Mechanical experience and/or minimum of years of demonstrable relevant Humanitarian Aid experience.

Geographical experience:

§ Minimum of 5 years of experience in Africa and/or Middle East with local experience in Bentiu, South Sudan is an advantage.

Languages:

§ Fluency in English is essential.

Key competencies:

Education:

§ High School Diploma or equivalent.

§ Trade qualifications/certifications in auto and heavy equipment mechanics or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language skills:

§ Ideally a strong knowledge of written and spoken English.

Work Experience:

§ At least 5 years experience in the repair and maintenance of automotive and heavy equipment.

§ Automotive and heavy equipment supervision experience.

§ Experience of working on a regular and call-out basis to respond to emergencies.
