Here’s where you come in:

As Protection and Gender Specialist, South Sudan, you will have a dual role of providing technical leadership and oversight to World Vision South Sudan’s Protection programming, encompassing Protection, Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response, as well as ensuring Protection and Gender Mainstreaming across all sectors and programming. Key areas of focus for this role will include:

  • Grant acquisition and resource mobilization in the Protection Sector, with a specific focus on Child Protection and GBV sub-sectors.
  • Technical support to ensure Protection and Gender Mainstreaming in Program / Proposal Development.
  • Donor and partner engagement, representation, and networking with respect to Protection and related sub-sectors.
  • Technical guidance and quality assurance of Protection, Child Protection, GBV programming, as well as mainstreaming of protection considerations, gender analysis and approaches for achieving gender sensitive and transformative outcomes in programming.

Requirements include:

  • Master degree in Social Work, Human Rights or relevant field. Postgraduate qualifications in Project Planning and Management is highly desired. Certificate courses in IASC Guidelines and key training packages preferred (Caring for [Child] Survivors of Sexual Violence; mhGAP-HIG, Psychological First Aid in Emergencies, CPiE Minimum Standards and MRM, GBV IMS, International Humanitarian & Human Rights Law Foundations, etc).
  • Extensive experience in Protection and Gender foundations, theory, practical application of minimum standards, delivery of services to children in emergencies and survivors of GBV, particularly in conflict settings. Experience in MHPSS considered a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including report writing.
