MISSION STATEMENT

POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION
- The Finance Coordinator will report hierarchically to the Finance Manager**.**
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The position holder is expected to advise projects on their budget utilization and implementation of policies and procedures of the organization and that of the respective project donor. He/She is also responsible to organize and conduct training in finance area as deemed necessary to project staff and Government finance officials .review monthly financial report documentation and budget.
Follow up on sub grantee advance and liquidation with compliance of the rules and policies of Food for the Hungry and the donor requirement.
The position holder will advise the FM on internal status and area of improvement based on reviews.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Result #1– Coordination- 25%
- Organize in house training and/or orientation session on finance to projects staff.
- Keeps track of the approved grants, maintain a file to keep detailed budgets, subsequent revisions and signed financial reports submitted to donors.
- Prepare and control regular field visit schedule to projects and/or sub-grantees by finance team and also in collaboration with programs
- Assists projects and/or sub-grantees in financial reporting and internal control related matters.
- Compile donors, projects and programs feed backs on financial reports to take subsequent corrective action.
****Key Result #2 – Budgeting and Reporting- 25%****
- Review monthly financial variance reports and use financial reports as guidelines for adjusting personnel effort and program expenditures.
- Support the Program team in developing budgets
- Manage grant reporting, pro‐actively engaging with colleagues to ensure reports comply with donor requirements in terms of their presentation, quality and timeliness.
- Assists/Advices projects and programs departments on their respective budget utilization
- Conduct monthly account allocation of balance sheet accounts in Sun System
Key Result #3: Grant Management - 25%
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations, FH finance policies and local government rules and regulations.
- Lead all aspect of grants compliance, ensuring grant management standards (reporting, procurement, and visibility, transfer of assets and disposition, audit) are understood and applied correctly.
- Provide grants management and financial oversight services for all projects and their sub awards ( local partners)
- Manage grant contract amendments, working with colleagues to ensure alignment between revised project implementation plans and budgets.
Key Result #4: Training and Capacity Building - 15%
- Develop capacity of Country Office Staff working on various grants
- Act as focal point for communications with donors and other stakeholders on issues that relate to financial matters.
Key Result #5: Sub awards - 5%
- Provide oversight to grantees sub‐granting procedures and ensure that they are in compliance with donor requirements.
- Conduct continuous assessments on grantees and oversee capacity building.
- Conduct monitoring visits to grantees for compliance to rules and regulations and fulfillment of the approved work plan and monitoring and evaluation requirements and, as appropriate, audit agreed upon procedures.
- Support development of sub award trainings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Academic Qualification - BA degree in Accounting Finance, Commerce or
Business Administration and CPA/ACCA professional qualification.
- Work Experience 3-4 years of experience in a related field is required.
- Desirable Trainings - Computer literate (Sun systems knowledge is an advantage)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic.
