About the role: This is a 12 month, replacement role with unaccompanied terms based in Nyamlell, Northern Bahr el Ghazal (NBEG) with a salary of Grade 2 €29,734-€33,038.
You will report to the Senior Health and Nutrition Programme Manager and we would like you to start as soon as possible.
Your purpose: You will plan, implement, monitor and report on CMAM activities within Concern’s broader health & nutrition programme in Aweil West and Aweil North Counties. This shall be done in collaboration/consultation with the Programme Director, Health and Nutrition Coordinator and Health, Nutrition Programme Managers and relevant stakeholders including national, county and local level health offices.
You will be responsible for:
· Supporting the implementation of Concern’s Nutrition Programme ensuring strict adherence to protocols and programme quality for better results.
· Building the capacity of Concern field staff especially Health and Nutrition Project Officers, Assistant Project Officers and Community Facilitators through On Job Training, mentoring and supervising staff in the field during activity implementation to assure programme quality.
· Supporting the Health and Nutrition Programme Managers in developing monthly activity work plans in line with the annual work plans and the commitments on the respective proposals.
· Ensuring a strong monitoring system is in place and that programme data on key nutrition indicators, including programme coverage, community participation, health and nutrition knowledge and practice, is collected, analysed, reviewed and responded to on an ongoing basis
· Adapting and improving the existing programme on an ongoing basis, based on careful review of routine field visit findings, monthly nutrition data from health facilities and discussions with field staff, beneficiaries, Health facility staff, Health and Nutrition Coordinator and Health and Nutrition Programme Managers.
· Regularly reporting on programme outcomes, activities, processes and lessons learned to inform the internal as well as donor and head office reports.
· Supporting PMs in planning and clearly outlining the quantities and specification for all required nutrition materials well in advance and liaising with the logistics department to ensure details and timelines are well understood.
· Ensuring effective training and mentoring of Health Facility Staff and community level (home health promoters/volunteers) in community health & nutrition program activities and monitoring, as applicable
· Ensuring stocks of food supplies for both CMAM and BSFP programmes are always optimal and there are no stock outs at the health facilities.
· Carrying out other related duties as assigned by the Health and Nutrition Coordinator
Your skills and experience will include:
Essential:
- Degree in Nutrition and any other related field s like Public Health and Nursing
- Two years’ experience implementing an emergency nutrition programme, particularly CMAM
- Experience supervising diverse staff
- Flexible and positive personality
- Strong planning and implementation capacity
- Confident and capable negotiator, communicator and networker
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
We would also like:
- Experience working in South Sudan or other fragile contexts
- Knowledge and familiarity with Concern Worldwide HR, Logistics, Transport, Purchasing and IT policies, procedures and standards
- Experience of implementing potentially contentious policies and procedures
- Experience of mentoring and on-the-job training
