PATH seeks a Deputy Chief of Party under the USAID funded Quality of Malaria Diagnosis and Treatment in Ethiopia program. The overall objective is to improve the quality of malaria diagnosis and treatments in supported facilities.

The Deputy Chief of Party is considered 'key personnel' and must meet or exceed the qualifications listed below and specific responsibilities may include:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide proper guidance on project management and planning.
  • Provide technical oversight and follow up of implementation to ensure program goals are met.
  • Take lead role in Management and coordination of activities related to improvement of malaria diagnosis and treatment.
  • Provide system level quality assurance support for Malaria case management and diagnosis as part of the overall capacity building and continuous improvement plan.
  • Work closely with COP for improved coordination and partnership among key government and non-governmental stakeholders.
  • Work closely with M&E for proper best.
    Required Skills and Experience:

  • MSc in Laboratory Technology.

  • Minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in laboratory and diagnostic work.

  • Proven experience in managing and implementing large system level USAID project.

  • Excellent communication, planning and project follow up skills.

  • Good knowledge about Ethiopian health system particularly in health management and Diagnostics.

Must have legal authorization to work in Ethiopia.
