Main objective:
The Technical Advisor will contribute to carrying out reconstruction and development activities in post-conflict South Sudan, by managing all the activities running in the Ireneo Dud Vocational Training Center, in coordination with the I SEE Programme Manager, ensuring that the Project is in line with the Government approach to the Education and with the AVSI method.
Reporting to: Programme Manager
Specific duties:
- to form the teachers in the two aspects that characterize a school: educational and life skills,
- To improve Dean Management skills.
- To accompany and supervise the Dean during the following activities:
o To prepare the scholastic calendar and lessons time schedule according to the ministry of education rules,
o To check the accountability of the school;
o To check the use of scholastic material,
o To keep teachers attendance,
o To supervise teachers and Dean during the exams and the certificate preparation,
o to help the Dean creating the Management Committee and the Parent and Teacher Association
o to supervise the Dean scheduling vocation period
o Together with the Dean, to decide the topics of monthly coordination meeting, management committee meeting and Parent and Teacher Association,
o Together with the Dean, to prepare the school rules code,
- To manage and define the financial strategy of the school
- To plan and manage the furniture of scholastic material
- To keep and improve with the local authorities in order to improve the quality of the education national system;
- To implement and improve the existing curriculum and decide with the Dean and the project manager the new curricula
- To contribute to the project monitoring and evaluation under the supervision of the project manager
- To support the PM maintaining the relation with the donors in order to integrate the activities of the VTC with other support activities (WFP, UNICEF)
- To be a role model for the personnel following AVSI method.
Essential Requirement
- Degree in humanities or social sciences
- Previous experience in social or educational projects in developing countries
- Proficiency in English language
