Oxfam South Sudan is looking for an experienced Emergency Food Security and Livelihoods (**EFSL) Coordinator** to ensure implementation of emergency food assistance and food security activities as well as contribute to livelihoods recovery of the South Sudanese population affected by the political crisis and conflict.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Oxfam’s to life saving work to ensure food distribution to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Host Communities. The EFSL Field Coordinator is responsible for the technical coordination, management and implementation of Oxfam’s food assistance and other EFSVL activities under the field programme activities conducted by the EFSVL Team. The EFSL Field Coordinator, coordinates, trouble-shoots and problem-solves to ensure the smooth functioning of project and any potential scale-up of the activities at field level.
The EFSL Field Coordinator is responsible for ensuring rapid response to people in need of lifesaving assistance which may include: timely, orderly and effective food distribution to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Host Communities; ensuring high quality intervention, monitoring and accurate data collection, recording and financial management according to donor and Oxfam policy and guidelines. The EFSL field Coordinator is also responsible for planning, regular project reporting and must ensure effective coordination of project activities with the relevant Local Government departments and other stakeholders.
To be successful you will Experience in management of large-scale food distributions in a complex humanitarian environment with an international or multinational organisation, including project design, report writing and monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian programmes. You will have a relevant Bachelors degree qualification in a discipline related to food security and livelihood or equivalent experience.
You will have strong management skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams in difficult environments. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate diplomacy, tact and to work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. and coordinate activities with other agencies, build and maintain positive working relationships.
You will have a good understanding of humanitarian protection standards, Sphere Minimum Standards, gender issues and Code of conduct as relevant to food distribution activities. The ability to understand complex security situations, work under pressure in a demanding environment and a good understanding of, and experience in, fast-paced and difficult contexts will be essential for this role.
Experience in Food For Assets/Work, Cash/Vouchers for Work, Food Drop/distribution operations would be a significant advantage. Previous experience in South Sudan is desirable.
