Background

SAADO – Smile Again Africa Development Organization is a national non- profit humanitarian and

development organization dedicated to working with the youth and their communities to reach their full

potential. Founded in 2011, SAADO works across all the states of South Sudan promoting social cohesion and empowering communities to tackle the causes of poverty and injustices. We provide humanitarian assistance to families affected by disaster & conflict while partnering with communities for long – term solutions to alleviate poverty. Motivated by the potential in the youth, we optimize their role to foster peaceful co-existence and economic empowerment in South Sudan.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Program Manager Education will lead in technical development, strategic direction and quality assurance of the education sector. The Education He / she is responsible for mentoring, training, building the technical capacity of staff and to develop the growth of the education portfolio for SAADO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensure effective design and implementation of quality formal & non-formal education programming through technical advice and support to the Director of Programs.

· Integrate SAADO’s strategy on improving basic, alternative and TVET education provision in South Sudan

· Contribute to fundraising, develop and revise funding proposal, budgets and donor reports

· Identify trends technical standards and donor priorities

· Follow up on compliance with contractual commitments within the Education Sector, ensure high technical quality and synergies in project implementation

· Provide technical direction and project implementation support

· Ensure that key learning is extracted from Education implementation, and incorporate them in Education implementation and staff development processes

· Provide systematic training and build capacity of technical staff

· Represent SAADO in relevant forums/clusters, including with national authorities and donors

· Develop innovative youth programming relevant to the South Sudan context and demonstrate flexibility of adopting new strategies and ways of implementing the other educational interventions.

· Be responsible for monitoring the sector-specific situation in the country and initiate relevant assessments to increase the scope, respond to emergencies or adapt the program to the context.

· Support in the recruitment of technical staff across the country program.

· Contribute sector/technical information for relevant internal and external sharing.

· Contribute to an effective M&E system in the country

· Work with project teams on Value for Money and cost efficiency

· Contribute to cluster reporting across the Education Sector

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Master’s degree in Education, or other relevant fields of study.

· At least 5 to 7-year experiences in design and implementation of education programs.

· Proven knowledge and experience in developing and implementing Basic education, alternative education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)

· Familiarity with international humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors, UN agencies, and other NGOs.

· Demonstrated ability to set up monitoring & evaluation systems in large complex Programs.

· Excellent communication, analytical skills, organization and writing/editing skills.
